PAKENHAM’S Nick Fitt was proud to recieve one of three P.B. Ronald Memorial Trust Awards at a presentation dinner on Tuesday evening.
The third-year horticulture student at Homesglen TAFE expressed his gratitude to the Trust and was all smiles on accepting his award.
“To receive this award in P.B. Ronald’s memory is a great honour. I am very grateful,” Mr Fitt said.
The dinner was hosted by Pakenham Rotary Club who is an ongoing supporter of the trust along with Cardinia Shire,the Pakenham Racing Club and The Pakenham and DistrictAgricultural and Horticultural Society.
Gembrook’s Zeb Quigley, Agricultural Science student at LaTrobe University, and Melbourne University Agriculture student Ciara Cullen from Kooweerup, were also recipients.
The P.B. Ronald Memorial Trust was established in 1991 to honour the memory of respected farmer and prominent community man, Peter Bruce Ronald.
Today it continues to assist local people in furthering their education in agriculture, horticulture and local government.
