Play gets upgrade

THE playground at Pakenham’s PB Ronald Reserve is about to be transformed.
It will be closed from the end of this month while the major upgrade takes place.
It is expected that the playground will be open in time for the January school holidays.
Mayor Bill Pearson said the playground upgrade would complete another part of the PB Ronald Reserve Master Plan.
“Paths within the playground will also be fully accessible and the new equipment includes a liberty swing, additional play features and an improved entrance,” he said.
Councillor Pearson said the playground area would also be fenced, while there would also be significant planting and landscape improvements.
The upgrade will be undertaken with the support of Variety Australia which has provided the Liberty Swing and the State Government which has provided a grant for this project through Sport and Recreation Victoria.
Children are encouraged to play at nearby playgrounds including those in Pakenham Heights, Heritage Springs and Martingale Place.
