Cool cops reap rewards

POLICE pursued a stolen car from Berwick to Cardinia, reaching speeds of up to 165km/h.
The high speed pursuit began about 3.15am yesterday (Wednesday), when the stolen Ford XR8 Ute took off from Clyde Road’s industrial estate. It lasted 13 minutes before the driver pulled over in Ballarto Road, Cardinia.
Acting Sergeant Duncan Bartley from Endeavour Hills Police praised officers for the way they handled the incident.“It was a great result tonight with two people arrested for some pretty serious offences and more importantly nobody ended up getting hurt,” he said. “We had a fairly junior crew on tonight and it’s a credit to them the way they kept their composure under extremely intense circumstances and got the job done.”
A 31-year-old Seaford man was arrested and charged with criminal and traffic offences. A 21-year-old Cheltenham woman was charged with theft of motor car and bailed to appear in court at a later date.
