THE highly acclaimed award winning play Dealers Choice will be entertaining audiences in Frankston next month.
Presented by Frankston Arts Centre and Critical Stages, the comedy is written by Patrick Marber, who wrote the Notes on a Scandal and Closer and directed the Helpmann award-winning Hedwig and the Angry Inch.
Dealers Choice is a gripping tale about the world of men and father-son relationships.
Set in a restaurant after closing time, a group of guys tend to their weekly ‘friendly’ poker game, only to be joined by one last dinner guest lurking in the venue.
Here is a tough, professional gambler who is unknown to the amateur poker players.
In the build-up to the game, the men’s lives are uncovered and secrets are exposed.
The Albedo Production has scored a Writer’s Guild Award for Best West End Play and An Evening Standard Award for Best Comedy.
The play stars David Webb, Sam North, David Terry, Ashley Lyons, Christopher Stollery and John Leary. It is directed by Craid IIoit, the set design is by Nicholas Dare, Lighting Design Andrew Mackonis, and was originally co-produced with The Tamarama Rock Surfers Old Fitzroy Theatre, Sydney.
The play is on Friday 4 September and Saturday 5 September.
