A NARRE Warren South family is desperately searching for its two dogs missing since the weekend.
Owner Christine Tyler believes the two Staffies, mother Lily, 5, and son Gilby, 2, escaped – or were stolen – from their Warren Park Place home early on Saturday morning.
“When we wake up the first we do is let the dogs come in to say hello, but they weren’t there on Saturday,” she said. “Lily doesn’t like the wind and because of the weather that morning we think they may have escaped – or even been snatched.”
The family suspect a possible theft as they discovered part of the fence was broken. “This is the first time anything like this has ever happened,” Ms Tyler said.
She said the dogs were a huge part of the family, especially to her eight-year-old son Connor, who was extremely sad since the dogs disappeared.
“He has even said on numerous occasions that he loves those dogs more than anyone else in the family,” she said. “Connor is also saying that he won’t be returning to school until he gets his dogs back.”
Ms Tyler said her son lived for the dogs. “They have such an amazing relationship. Connor even calls Gilby his brother,” she said. The family has searched high and low for the dogs, even putting up posters in the area and talked to neighbours.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Tyler family on 0415 616 803.
