Boom time at library

MORE than a dozen children rocked up to the Endeavour Hills Library last week to bang their drums and make some noise.
The drumming workshop was headed by professional drummer Peta Minter. Miss Minter is a member of the West African band Afo, Irish band Molly Maguires, and a member of the David Jones percussion ensemble Drum.
Library acting branch manager Carol Ely said staff enjoyed the event as much as the kids, who ranged from age eight to 12.
“Staff and patrons had a lot of fun, and the kids had the best time,” she said. “They started off with a small tap on the drum and by the end of the one hour session were making a lot of noise.”
Ms Ely said the successful workshop was part of the holiday activities Endeavour Hills Library runs over the Easter season.
“There seems to be a lot of demand for activities like this in Casey,” she said. “It was very popular.”
