PAKENHAM traders have the chance to find out how to use the council’s graffiti clean-up kits this Saturday.
The council will run a graffiti removal demonstration near Cactus Black surf store at 11am.
Pakenham Business Group president Michael Porter has urged traders to take part.
“We need business owners to recognise graffiti and take responsibility and remove graffiti from their premises,” he said.
“Statistics show the quicker you clean it up, the less likely they (vandals) are to re-offend.”
Targeted clean-ups in graffiti hot-spots have led to a 49.5 per cent reduction in graffiti around the shire.
Councillors are now focusing on educating traders about graffiti removal in a bid to eradicate the problem.
