Pakenham Show excites in 115th year

It was another stellar year for the Pakenham Show, with friendly competition, rides and wonderful displays.

The 115th Parklea Pakenham Agricultural and Horticultural Show was held on Saturday 14 March, with this year’s theme being “Life in the Ocean.”

Art, baking, garden produce, needlework and much more were showcased in the pavilion, and the sheep and poultry sections provided the traditional feel of agriculture.

Megan McAlpine took home the Thomas Family Award for Best in Show for her selection of garden produce.

The show also recognised the many young people participating, with awards presented by Pakenham Show Ambassador Ashlee Rogers.

New attractions were welcomed this year, with a popular addition being the Scottish Highlands cattle, that included a small calf.

Paw Patrol, Eesha Elephant and Ringleader Ruby and Baby Shark also made an appearance, as well as local entertainers Snorkelaramas, who added to this year’s theme.

Special thanks went to the many volunteers and sponsors who make the Pakenham Show happen.
