Council seeks community feedback on council land sale proposal

The City of Casey is seeking input from the community regarding future prospects for a council-owned land in Narre Warren.

The land site is located at 12-14 Vesper Drive, Narre Warren, near the busy Fountain Gate Shopping Centre and Bunjil Place Library.

Back at December council meeting, councillors elected that the selling of the land would be a suitable option — but says it is now seeking feedback from the community before finalising this decision.

The decision to dispose of the lot follows council facilitated assessment that found the land is not suitable for alternative community uses — this is due to the land being established in an industrial precinct and in an industrial three zoning.

Council says the location presents strong potential for future investment and development.

Casey’s Mayor Stefan Koomen encourages Casey residents to take part in this period of feedback.

“I encourage all community members, especially those who reside or work in Narre Warren, to review the proposal and share their thoughts,” said Mayor Koomen.

The consultation period will close on 10 March, and a final decision will be presented and considered at the April 2026 Council meeting on Tuesday 21 April.
