CHRISTMAS cheer is coming to Pakenham, and for four days next month, Main Street will be the centre of attention.
The Pakenham Business Group is organising the Christmas festival, which will feature a fourday sale beginning on 1 December that is sure to attract the attention of any serious bargain hunters.
After the success of the oneday sale in late August, Main Street traders are ready to roll out the super specials once again.
“There was a great response to the oneday sale, and we’re sure extending the sale to four days will just add to the atmosphere,” Richard Fromhold, from the Pakenham Business Group, said.
A Christmas festival was also in the works, with Rosa Santo from Mama Rosa Pizza Ristorante organising activities.
“We are hoping to have choirs and singers performing in the Main Street, it will all create a great atmosphere,” Ms Santo said. Santa will also be visiting Pakenham early, accepting wish lists from children and participating in photographs.
The business group is in talks with the Cardinia Shire in an attempt to organise the temporary closure of Main Street for a parade on one of the four days. If the closure of Main Street is not possible, the group will look at Station Street as an alternative.
