A joyful group of Maroons watched eagerly as the first sod was turned for the construction of an electronic scoreboard at Upper Beaconsfield Recreation Reserve on December 20.
Contributions from the local Bendigo Bank as well as the Shire of Cardinia supported the development of up to date facilities for the Upper Beaconsfield Community.
Upper Beaconsfield Cricket Club Vice President Mel Naismith, Bendigo Bank Board’s CEO Graeme Taylor and Cardinia Shire’ s Councillor Brett Owen (united to turn the first sod watched by excited cricket club members.
UBCC President John Kett said they have developed a campaign to create facilities that match the best in the district.
“The scoreboard, a state of the art pavilion and cutting edge lighting will attract people to join our groups in the town. Upper Beaconsfield looks forward to enjoying modern facilities.”
