A first time win for Pauline!

Six lucky readers across the Yarra Ranges have been receiving their custom themed Monopoly games in December.

Monbulk author and playwright, Pauline Hosking got hers hand delivered by a Star Mail journalist as they set back across the Valley on the evening of December 11.

“I’ve never won anything before – so this is quite a surprise,” she said.

Monopoly Yarra Valley Edition was launched October at CherryHill Orchards in Coldstream, where Mr Monopoly himself turned up to entertain crowds and representatives to celebrate.

A number of well known locations appear in the custom game, from the the Truffle Valley to Mount Lilydale Mercy College and Yarra Valley ECOSS. The coveted blue squares were taken up Yarra Valley Wineries and the Redwood Forest.

With squares determined by local opinion, Winning Moves Monopoly brand manager Michael Counsell said at the launch that by representing local traders, the board is expected to bring a boost to businesses in the area and instill a sense of local pride in generations to come.
