SWGMW BOWLS
An appreciative group of 40 members of the South West Gippsland Midweek Bowling Group enjoyed ideal conditions at the Loch and District Bowls Club on Thursday.
It was a perfect day for the weekly challenge with temperatures in the mid-twenties and a great group of friends to play with and against.
It was also a wonderful green to play on, with the 40 players all enjoying a true rink to play on.
The players were signed in by Bev and John while Vern arranged the teams for the day.
Once our bowlers were told their teams and went onto the green; the real fun began.
As usual there was lots of laughter and plenty of friendly banter as friend challenged friend for superiority on the green.
There were a few wrong-bias bowls on the day, which are always welcomed by the Royal Children’s Hospital fund-raising tin.
There was some great bowling across all the greens along with a few wild shots, but lots of laughter from all quarters.
As usual, not all of our wonderful bowlers can win each week and this week is no difference.
The weekly winners on a score of 35 were Frank d’Unienville (2), Gary McAllister (L), Steve Edge (3) and Kirk Humphry (S).
Runners up on a score of 33 were Mark Hanrahan (S), Peter Thorley (L), Max Williams (2) and Phil Wright (3).
Best One Game winners on a score of 19 were Terry Floyd (S), Max Summers (2), Rob Jeffries (3) and Bob Arnold (L).
A big thank you to the Loch members for all their hard work, especially to Trevor who does so much for our group.
This week we will be meeting at Corinella Bowls Club to once again fight it out for team of the week.
Please be on site by 10am to allow time to prepare the teams.
Unfortunately, with numbers generally reaching our capacity, we will have to be strict on a 10am cut-off time.
Meanwhile, till then, have fun and stay safe.
