Civic band honours the late Lyn Stephenson

The Cardinia Civic Concert Band’s recent performance was a bittersweet moment marked by an exciting guest, while many paid tribute to the late Lyn Stephenson.

Australia’s oldest concert band held their annual performance on Sunday 21 September at the Cardinia Cultural Centre, which included special guest John Wood.

The Gold Logie winner, best known for his role as Tom Croydon in Blue Heelers, joined the band for an afternoon of music.

This year was a tribute to the late Lyn Stephenson OAM, the band’s longest serving member who passed away in June.

Ms Stephenson played for the band for over 70 years, starting when she was eight years old.

The legendary figure of Pakenham became a guiding force for generations of local musicians; the concert celebrated her contribution to the band and the wider community.
