Prized possession goes up in flames

A prized possession of restored trucks and hot rods has gone up in flames after a fire at a Pakenham factory.

Firefighters responded to a fire in an industrial estate along Drovers Place on Tuesday night.

FRV and CFA crews arrived at 6.26pm to the scene of a 30m x 15m shed involved in fire.

The site was a former depot for a transport business that was now turned into the owner’s restoration and custom garage.

Several restored trucks, hot rods and a Harley-Davidson motorcycle were stored at the premises during the fire.

Firefighters entered the building with hose lines to contain the fire which was deemed under control at 7.01pm.

Ambulance Victoria, Victoria Police and the power company also attended the scene.

As of Wednesday morning, FRV crews were on scene determining the cause of the fire.

The building remains standing, but significant damage is seen on the facade.

The extent of damage to property within is not yet determined.
