PAKENHAM’S State Emergency Service (SES) will throw open its doors to the public next Saturday.
The Pakenham Unit will hold a unit open day as part of its national SES week celebrations.
The event will take place at Pakenham’s emergency services complex on Saturday 15 November.
It will feature interactive displays, including general rescue, road rescue, and communication and major emergency response displays. A free barbecue and show bags will also be available.
Pakenham SES controller Andrew Graham said the event was a great way to celebrate the hard work of the unit during the year.
“The Pakenham SES volunteers have made a terrific contribution to the community this year, particularly during the two major storm periods earlier this year,” he said.
“It is important that they take the opportunity to celebrate the hard work that they have done.”
National SES Week runs from 8 to 16 November.
