Comedian Andy Lee was not in attendance at Drouin Golf and Country Club on Saturday but the course still hosted its own version of ‘The Hundred’ with exactly 100 players taking part in a stableford competition.
Players who braved the elements were well rewarded with the rain holding off for most of the day.
As well as the normal daily competition, it was also the first round of the Autumn Amble and Dwyer Cup.
Some really good scores were recorded in A Grade with Chad McKie winning, paring the course and scoring 40 points, while Rohan Berkhout was the runner up on a countback with 37 points.
B Grade was won by David Sharpe with 39 points and Ben Smith was runner up with 38 points. Darren Hayes was the C Grade winner and had the best score with 41 points and also won the Super Six with 16 points.
Mitchell Baker was runner up in C Grade with 36 points.
D Grade winner went to Brett Dyer who scored 40 points, with Jack Ralston finishing runner up on a countback with 39 points.
Down the lines went to Shane Dehaan 39, Justin Anastasiu 38, Mark Allen 37, Phil Adams 36, Jensen Cavanagh 36, Scott McKinnon 36, Simon Caygill 36, Zach Bambridge 36, Ryan Hammond 36, Mitch Dyer 35, Roger Crow 35, Fred Roknic 35, Ben Kelleher 35 and Tony Laycock 35C/B.
Nearest the pins went to 5th Michael Dennis (Sharkey’s Barbershop), 8th Mitchell Baker, 9th Dave Cavanagh (Target Hole), 10th Glenn Robinson (Pro Pin) and 14th Graham Austin (Commercial Hotel).
Wednesday
The Midweek Stableford competition attracted a field of 107 players.
A Grade was led by Glenn Robinson with a score of 39 points, while Paul Barratt was runner up with 37 points.
Jason Fritzlaff won B Grade with 39 points, ahead of Luke Smith who was runner up on a three-way countback with 35 points.
C Grade saw the best score for the day, with Brett Dyer winning with 41 points, while Dale McIntyre was runner up with 39 points.
Three players tied on 37 points in D Grade, with Graham Austin coming out the winner with a better back nine, while Greg Roberts was runner up.
Reg Dixon claimed the Super Six prize with 15 points on a countback.

Nearest the pins went to 5th Peter Phillips, 8th Paul Barratt, 10th Mike Duddy and 14th Mark Klaver.
Thursday
The Thursday 9-Hole Stableford competition was won by Lea Caldwell on a countback from runner up Reg Dixon, with both players scoring 21 points.
Down the line balls went to Craig Magrath with 18 points and Graham Moon with 17 points on a countback.
Sunday
Sunday’s Stableford competition was won by Ben Peters with 43 points, while runner up went to Dylan Rawlings with 39 points.
Nick Gray, Tom Marshall and Steel Mateariki won balls down the line with 38 points.
Upcoming competitions are Stableford, midweek, Saturday and Sunday, as well as 9-Hole Stableford on Thursday morning.
This Saturday, May 24, is also the final round of the Autumn Amble and the second round of the Dwyer Cup.
