Officer Primary School has stood for over a century and families arrived this year to see an almost transformed school with brand new facilities.
Approximately 70 percent of Officer Primary has been reconstructed with brand new rooms to fulfill the modern needs in teaching local children.
On Friday 14 February, the school held a special event to mark the occasion with families joining after the school.
Pakenham MP Emma Vulin and Cardinia Shire Mayor Jack Kowarzik joined in on the celebration and the special tour for the community to see the new facilities.
“It was pleasing to see the transformation of this almost 140-year-old beautiful school. Some new buildings, a new sign, fresh paint – all that will enhance learning spaces for the Officer PS school community,” Ms Vulin said.
The school now enjoys are new admin building, a general purpose space and a relocatable building.
Most of all is the addition of a STEAM building and no it’s not a sauna.
This building is for STEM with an “A” added for art. It includes a large space for a variety of practical and creative work.
As well as a cooking space which will be utilised at school.
The revamp also includes a bold new sign that is hard to miss off Tivendale Road.
With three new schools constructed around the Officer and Pakenham area to accommodate growing need, this new upgrade ensures Officer Primary is here to stay for another century.
