PRECEDE: With the passing of Pakenham icon Norma Jackson on Monday 30 September, there was an outpouring from the community in memory of ‘Aunty Norma’ and her family. Here are some of the many messages sent from locals.

I wish to express my heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the entire Pakenham community on the passing of Norma Jackson, a dedicated life member of the Pakenham CFA, the Pakenham Football Club, and the Pakenham Netball Club. Norma’s unwavering service and commitment to the CFA, running teams and clubs were a testament to her deep care and devotion to her community. Her legacy of selflessness, strength, and community spirit will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. I have found memories of her stories and laughs. May her memory bring comfort to those who loved her, and may she rest in peace. The community of Pakenham has lost a true matriarch.

Norma J is very sadly missed. We started out at footy club but later when I was running with the brigade, started driving beautiful Norma home and we became lifelong friends to a point I would love to go visit her and take her out right up til the time she couldn’t go out anymore. She was a wonderful Lady and great friend I miss her a lot but I know she is in better place and resting in Peace. I’m much better for having her in my life for many happy years sadly missed.
