Pair charged after Nar Nar Goon CFA ram raid

Police have charged a 33-year-old Pakenham man and a 30-year-old Pakenham woman with a string of offences following a ram raid at a fire station in Nar Nar Goon on Friday 20 September.

Police alleged a silver four-wheel drive rammed the gates in the yard of the CFA station on Carney Street at about 1.30am on Friday 20 September.

Police alleged the pair gained access to a fire truck and stole equipment, with the pair allegedly using the four-wheel drive to ram the roller door of the fire station.

However, the pair allegedly did not gain access to the building and fled the scene in the vehicle, before the vehicle was found a short time later in Pakenham East.

No one was inside at the time of the incident.

Police alleged the pair were also involved in a series of commercial and residential burglaries, theft of motor vehicles and theft from a motor vehicle in Cardinia on Sunday 15 September, as well as a series of thefts of motor vehicles, thefts from motor vehicles and commercial burglaries in Baw Baw between Sunday 15 September and Tuesday 17 September.

Police executed a search warrant at a property in Ebony Drive in Pakenham at 3.30pm on Friday 20 September.

A 33-year-old Pakenham man and 30-year-old Pakenham woman were arrested at the scene and charged with extensive offending including burglary and theft of a motor vehicle, as well as a number of other related offences.

Police charged the man with 34 offences in total and he was remanded to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates Court on Saturday 21 September.

Police charged the woman with 30 offences in total and she was bailed to appear before the Dandenong Magistrates Court on Tuesday 12 November.
