Fun and festivities ahead for senior citizens

August is a busy month for the Pakenham Senior Citizens Club, who had a visit from Cardinia councillor Carol Ryan, who joined the club for lunch and spoke about the works have been achieved by the council over the past few years.

She also answered questions and took notes to take back to the council.

On the morning of Tuesday 6 August, members enjoyed a morning tea, while Hoi on Tuesday 13 August was a great time to win grocery prizes.

The club’s birthday will be celebrated on Wednesday 28 August with a soup, cake and entertainment, with tickets available for $100.

The event will mark the anniversary of the club’s inauguration in 1967 sponsored by the Rotary Club.

On Friday 30 August, gentlemen members will be treated to a seniors lunch at Club Officer to celebrate Father’s Day.

The usual activities of a two-course subsidised Monday lunch, bingo, carpet bowls, cars and the monthly meat raffle fill out an entertaining month

September will start off with Trivia Bingo on Tuesday 6 September, while anyone interested in joining the dog walking groups can contact Sue.

People interested in joining the club or renting the club rooms are invited to visit any Monday morning at 38 James Street in Pakenham or phone 5941 1297.
