Proud day for Pakenham Pumas celebrating 25 years

Pakenham Pumas Baseball Club celebrated 25 years of baseball in the Cardinia Shire on Saturday, hosting a Past Players Day to mark the anniversary.

Club Chairman Travis Hough said the day was “a roaring success”.

There were plenty of old faces on the sidelines to cheer on the home sides, including several of the club’s inaugural members from the April 2000 Pumas teams, all there to help celebrate the milestone.

There was fantastic support from the wider baseball community as well, with plenty of supporters from both Frankston and Bonbeach, along with representatives from council, the Dandenong Baseball Association and the local member for parliament.

The day kicked off with Pakenham hosting the entire Under-12 competition in the morning, before the kids made way for all six senior teams in the afternoon, that all played at home on the same day for the very first time.
