PAKENHAM Hills Primary School students put their best foot forward on Friday as part of a pedestrian awareness program.
The students and their teachers met at Jackson Reserve on Ahern Road before making the trek to school on national Walk Safely to School Day.
The school’s police liaison officer Mike Pearton accompanied the students on the walk.
Walk Safely to School Day is an annual community event that promotes road safety, health, public transport and the environment.
The program encourages parents and carers to reinforce good pedestrian behaviour, to promote the health benefits of walking, promote use of public transport and to help children become better pedestrians.
