St Patrick’s Catholic Primary School at Pakenham celebrated their two new renovated buildings with Federal Senator Jess Walsh joining in the blessing and official opening on Wednesday 8 May.
The refurbishment is Stage 1 of the school redevelopment, providing local students with better learning space in a range of studies from mathematics to engineering.
Federal Senator for Victoria Jess Walsh joined the event with Parish Priest, Fr Janeesh Jose officially blessing the renovated room along side Director of Catholic Education for Diocese of Sale Mr Paul Velten and Principal Megan Escalante.
The opening also included a performance from the school choir and from the school band of students Mpho, Lachlan and Lucas.
“The project has been transformative in providing contemporary learning spaces that are inviting, light-filled and adaptable to inspire learning and provide a collaborative environment for students and staff alike. The new facilities also reflect our Catholic identity and provide a faith-filled environment for students to flourish,“ Principal Escalante said.
The Stage 1 refurbishment was principally funded through a $1million grant from the Australian Government under the Capital Grants Program (CGP) and a $960,000 loan from the Capital Development Fund (CDF).
