Garfield ladies dig deep for ovarian cancer

Fashion, fun and friendship were on the menu as part of the Garfield Football Netball Club’s fourth annual Ladies Day, with proceeds donated to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation (OCRF).

With support from Garfield businesses Impodimo Living and Giving, SOHL Store and Ultimate Indulgence and ahead of World Ovarian Cancer Day on 8 May, the club hosted the ‘Sips and Dips’ White Shirt Day, with 92 ladies enjoying the event, which included champagne, finger food, a fashion parade and a raffle.

Co-organiser Pauline Tenace-Greenall said $3587 in proceeds would be donated to the OCRF.

“It was very successful,” she said.

Ms Tenace-Greenall said the day continued to be a force to bring the women from within the club together.

“Garfield Football Netball Club really focuses on making it a community,” she said.

Ms Tenace-Greenall said the organisers had decided to support ovarian cancer research due to their personal connection to those who have battled with the disease.

“We have had friends touched by ovarian cancer,” she said.
