ASPIRING artists have the chance to get a closer look at the music industry at an Electric Productions workshop next week.
Cardinia Shire Council youth services officer Carrolyn Agius said the workshop, which will be held at the Cardinia Cultural Centre next Tuesday (13 May), would allow young people to learn from industry professionals about their experiences in the industry.
“The workshop will cover a range of areas from being a musician to book keeping, licensing, music copyright and getting an ABN,” she said.
“Guest speakers will include well-known performers sharing their experiences along with professional service providers who can help a music career along such as a book keeper and music licensing specialist. The Electric Productions team is keen for as many young people as possible to attend and benefit from the workshop.”
Electric Productions, Cardinia Shire’s FreeZA committee, has put the workshop program together as part of its commitment to provide information and training to young performers.
The workshop will run from 6pm to 9pm.
Those wishing to attend need to RSVP for catering purposes to Carrolyn Aguis by Monday 12 May on 1300 787 624 or email youth@cardinia.vic.gov.au.
