Charges after home invasion

Eastern Region Crime Squad detectives arrested and charged a Pakenham man following an aggravated home invasion in Wantirna South last year.

It’s alleged five offenders gained entry to a Wantirna South home after smashing through a door at 3.30am on 22 November 2023.

A male resident received serious injuries after the offenders allegedly assaulted him with multiple weapons.

During the incident, it’s alleged the offenders stole property including a motor vehicle.

Following an extensive investigation, detectives arrested a 22-year-old Pakenham man.

He was charged with aggravated home invasion and assault using an offensive weapon, aggravated home invasion and steal using an offensive weapon, intentionally cause serious injury, criminal damage, theft of motor vehicle and theft.

He was remanded and will appear at Melbourne Magistrates Court on 3 May.
