DROUIN GOLF MEN

Wednesday

91 players contested the mid-week Stableford competition last week.

In A Grade, Scott Hall was the winner with a great score of 40 points and Glenn Flowers came in runner-up on a countback with 39 points.

Geoff Closter claimed B Grade with 38 points.

It was a tight contest for the runner-up spot with three players finishing on 36 points, but ultimately it was Dale McIntyre who won on a countback.

The top two players in C Grade couldn’t be separated on points, with both John Gardiner and Peter Phillips scoring 41 points.

Gardiner was the winner on a countback while Phillips finished runner-up.

Robert Ramage was the Super Six winner with 15 points.

Down the lines went to Michael Herman 40, Brook Lavery 39, Luke Dehaan 37, Colin Kennard 36, Darren Hayes 36, Shane Dwyer 36, Ron Tomasetti 36, Robert Ramage 36, Reg Dixon 36, Richard Ford 36, Mike Duddy 36 & Ian Hemphill 35.

Nearest the pins were 5th Mick Lithgow, 8th Glenn Flowers, 10th Peter Newton & 14th Marc Alberts.

Saturday

Stableford was the competition played on Easter Saturday, with a field of 111 players.

Top score for the day went to Rohan Berkhout who shot an impressive two under par and finished with 43 points to win A Grade.

Pete Downward was the runner-up on a count back with 37 points.

In B Grade the winner was Bailey Butcher who finished with 39 points, while Ben Jeffrey finished runner-up with 38 points on a countback.

Brett English led C Grade comfortably, winning with a score of 39.

A countback was needed for the runner-up spot, Jock Granger taking this with 36 points.

D Grade winner was Adam Rawlings with 38 points and Peter Britchford finished runner up with 37 points.

The winner of the Super Six was Margaret Payne with 20 points.

Nearest the pins were 5th Fred Allen (Pro Pin), 8th Ken Cooper (Commercial Hotel), 10th Mick Lithgow (Sharkey’s Barbershop) & 14th Glenn Rees (Siam Pesto Restaurant).

Target Hole winner was Kevin Johnson on the 18th.

The upcoming competition is Stroke on Saturday.

There is no competition this Sunday due to the club hosting a round of Pennant, the course will be closed on Sunday until 2pm.

DROUIN LADIES

The Drouin Ladies played a two-person Stableford Multiplier event on Tuesday 26 March.

The winners were Angela Greenall (39) and Leanne Pollard (10) with a score of 68 points.

Runners-up were Bev Goodwin (29) and Marion Devlin (33) with a score of 65 points on a countback.

Down the line balls went to Meagan Ford and Robyn Carville on 65 points, with Dagmar Forbes and Marg Murray also on 65 points.

Nearest the pins went to: 5th Mary Tymensen, 8th Judy Dixon, 8th (2nd Shot) Wendy Hitchins, 10th Ann Roberts, 14th Anne Neilson.

Saturday 30 March was an Individual Stableford event for the ladies and the winner was Margaret Payne (54) with an amazing 46 points.

Runner-up was Maryanne Batson (44) with 34 points.

Monday Pennant Round two was played at Moe on 25 March.

Unfortunately Drouin had a 3-2 loss to Warragul 1.

Next round is Monday 8 April at Traralgon.

Tuesday 2 April was a Stroke event competing for the April Monthly Medal.

Tuesday 9 April is an Individual Stableford and Grandmother’s trophy day.

The Eileen Smith 4BBB event will run over two rounds, 16 and 23 April, with partners required.
