Hard yakka pays off with a record

A RECORD crowd flocked to Pakenham’s retail heartland on the weekend for the 32nd Yakkerboo Festival.
Glorious weather and a variety of activities saw about 10,000 people turn out to the historic event.
A unique cavalcade of about 30 cars passed through the parade route and impressed the crowds lining the streets.
The parade was again a highlight with 33 floats joining the famous Mr Yakkerboo through the streets.
Kidz Rock kick started the annual festival on Friday night, while a carnival and fireworks display was held at PB Ronald Reserve on Saturday night.
Sunday’s huge fireworks display provided a perfect ending to what had been a big weekend.
