The community is invited to walk against family violence in Pakenham on Friday 24 November.
The Cardinia Casey Family Violence Network, with support from Cardinia Shire Council, is hosting the Walk Against Violence to help raise awareness about family violence and services available to vulnerable families in the community.
The Walk Against Violence, now in its 13th year, will depart at 12pm from the Pakenham Library and travel through Main Street before finishing at the library at around 12.30pm.
Prior to and following the walk, families can hear from guest speakers and participate in a series of activities, including:
– Raffles.
– Family friendly activities.
– Free sausage sizzle.
The walk offers all people in Cardinia an opportunity to show their support to end the cycle of family violence in the community – everyone is welcome to attend.
Due the event, the following roads will be temporarily closed between 12pm and 12.30pm:
-John Street (between Henry Street and Main Street).
-Treloar Lane.
-Cook Drive (between Treloar Lane and Station Street).
-Station Street (between Cook Drive and Main Street).
-Main Street (between Station Street and John Street).
