Warriors will face the might of Just Social for a place in the South West Gippsland Dart League grand final when action resumes after the Melbourne Cup Day public holiday after upsetting Snipers in week one of finals competition.

Despite being the lower-ranked side heading into the contest, Liam, Hank and Jazz turned the tables on an undermanned Snipers team in the 8-3 result.

Just Social will be breathing a sigh of relief, with Snipers holding the distinction of being the only side to have knocked them off this season.

Warriors will still have revenge on their mind after last season’s grand final loss, but will be hoping that last week’s rest will leave the defending premiers rusty when competition resumes.

Where Warriors have critical continuity, due to the Melbourne Cup public holiday, no darts will be thrown on Tuesday 7 November, meaning it will be a whole fortnight of no competition for the minor premiers.

Finishing in the top three means that Snipers receive a reprieve, however, and will face Paky One in order to keep their premiership hopes alive.

Gembrook forfeited its elimination final contest with Paky One to set up the sudden-death clash.

In the lower half of the table, 26ers and Bullseyes took care of business as the higher seed in their respective clashes.

Don Brown Memorial Shield holders 26ers got the better of Mud Rats 8-5 and Bullseyes kept Hoodies scoreless in the 8-0 whitewash.

Mud Rats will now face Bullseyes with elimination on the line, while 26ers have a date with the Rebels to advance to the grand final for Division two to play off for the Don Brown Memorial Shield.
