Much needed win lifts Storm

Cardinia has risen to fifth on the ladder and drawn to within two points of third-placed Mentone with an important 3-0 win over Hawthorn on the weekend.

Matilda Dillon opened the scoring, before Rebecca Gregory and Randeep Kaur struck goals in the Storm’s first win since 17 June, against this week’s opponent, Knox.

The result was set up by a staunch defence and hard-working midfield, which was potent when given the opportunity to attack.

The under-10s, meanwhile, were resilient in a loss to Southern, led by the spirit of Luke Holland.
