Recycling at rotary.

Members of the Rotary Clubs of Berwick and Pakenham recently got together to collect unused aged care equipment to donate charity.

Items including wheelchairs, walkers, commode chairs, toilet risers, shower chairs, bed supports and other items were transported to the Rotary Donations in Kind (DIK) warehouse in West Footscray.

The items will then be sorted and stored to be later sent to countries in need of such equipment, which is organised through a Rotary club in the country it is sent to.

Some hospital beds were also collected and taken to Millhaven Lodge.

DIK collect medical equipment, surplus educational supplies, unused clothing and other items to send to countries in the Pacific, Asia, Africa, and the Sub-Continent.

The Rotary Club of Pakenham is currently in the process of sending a container of items to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe.

Not only is this a vitally important project, it is great fellowship between the two clubs.
