PlayDaze is a fun experience

MORE than 50 young children together with their parents and carers experienced the exciting world of playgroups, at a recent City of Casey PlayDaze event held at Hillsmeade Primary School.
Casey manager of children’s services Colette McMahon said it was great to see such fun being had between the children, as well as the adults on the day.
“PlayDaze gives families the opportunity to explore positive play experiences for children, and learn about the importance of play in child development,” she said.
Lots of natural, recyclable, inexpensive materials were used on the day to provide open ended, sensory and play experiences, with council officers and other childhood professionals and agencies there to provide advice and ideas to try at home.
“I would like to thank all those who volunteered their time on the day to assist in PlayDaze, and especially thank the families for participating. I encourage all those with young children to consider joining a local playgroup, or starting a new one, as the development opportunities of creative play as well as the opportunity to connect with other parents and carers benefit the whole family,” Ms McMahon said. For more information about the next PlayDaze event or about playgroups in general contact Casey playgroup development officer Kim Reynolds on 9705 5200.
