Socials set sights on Snipers

Just Social has used the half-way mark of the season to make its biggest statement with the team from Kooweerup producing a commanding performance in its 11-4 victory over Snipers.

These two have been butting heads at the top of the South West Gippsland Dart League (SWGDL) for the last few seasons, so their round 10 engagement was highly anticipated.

But it was Just Social that put their rivals to the sword to retain their position at the top of the SWGDL ladder.

Just Social is the only team in the league to have three players amongst the top-10 for most tons thrown for the season, with Terry (37), Jamie (34) and Tony (28) now having thrown 99 centuries between them.

Despite the loss, it wasn’t all bad news for the Snipers with Jamie B throwing his first 180 for the season.

Just Social remain on top, percentage ahead of PakyOne, while Snipers stay in fourth position with a slight percentage advantage over Rebels and 26ers.

PakyOne continues to keep its top-two prospects alive, this time with an impressive 11-4 victory over fellow finals contender 26ers.

Shane from PakyOne has hit a purple-patch of form, throwing his second 180 for the season after delivering the goods against Warriors in round eight.

In other round-10 highlights, Bullseyes joined Gembrook on three wins for the season after edging out the Brookers 8-7 in an absolute thriller, while Rebels were made to work hard for their 9-6 victory over Mud Rats.

Thom from Mud Rats is having a fine season and now has 36 tons to his name.

In the final game of round-10 – in the battle of the cellar-dwellers – Fore opened their account in spectacular style with a 15-0 whitewash of The Hoodies.

It was a bad night for The Hoodies, although Rohan threw a personal best of 124 on the night.

Third-placed Warriors had the bye.

LADDER – R10: Just Social 32, PakyOne 32, Warriors 28, Snipers 24, Rebels 24, 26ers 24, Gembrook 12, Bullseyes 12, Mud Rats 8, Fore 4, The Hoodies 0.
