THE circus is coming to town and will call Fountain Gate its home for the next two weeks.
Circus Royale labels itself as a ‘real circus’ that entertains both the young and old.
It boasts six animal acts as well as high wire walkers, trapeze acts, clowns, acrobats, dancers, drummers and jugglers.
Circus Royale spokesman Barry Nixon said the million-dollar big top tent ensures everyone gets a seat within 12 metres of the ring.
“There has been a tendency in recent years for circuses to change direction and appeal to different audiences,” Mr Nixon said.
“This is real circus, the way we remember it from our childhood. It’s big, it’s exciting, it’s funny and it’s wonderfully traditional family entertainment.
“We take particular pride in our new cruelty-free pet animal show, where every animal performer is a household pet,” he said.
The touring company is made up of 35 performers and includes children who live and learn in the circus traditions.
Circus Royale will perform at Fountain Gate from today (Thursday) until 7 October.
