THE Hawks are getting ready to swoop on Pakenham tomorrow (Friday).
The Hawthorn Football Club is holding a training session and barbecue at the Toomuc Reserve on Friday 25 January as part of their preparations for the 2008 season.
Cardinia Shire residents are invited to bring the family along and watch the AFL stars in action.
The players will also conduct a free coaching clinic and an autograph signing session.
Cardinia Shire mayor Bill Ronald said the AFL club, which played off in a preliminary final last season, had developed a close association with Pakenham. “The Hawks trained at the Toomuc Reserve last year and several players commented on the high quality of the playing surface, saying it was one of the best grounds they’d trained on,” he said.
The action kicks off at 8.30am and the players will hold a children’s clinic from 10.30am to 11.15am.
