Drunk driver stopped by public

At 7.40pm on 22 February, members of the Pakenham public observed a 30-year-old male who was unable to hold his lane and driving at a slow speed.

The vehicle crossed to the wrong side of the road numerous times.

The concerned citizens stopped the vehicle in Kathryn Close and called 000.

The driver was given a demand for a breath test which returned a reading of 0.275. The driver’s probationary licence which was immediately suspended and his car was impounded for 30 days.

He will be served a summons to attend court with charges for driving under the influence of alcohol and drink driving.
