Brett Owen launches independent campaign for State Election

Cardinia Shire Councillor Brett Owen has officially launched his campaign for the upcoming State Election.

More than 50 supporters were in attendance to hear Mr Owen outline his approach as a community independent.

“I’m focusing my campaign on listening to the community and providing a positive option,” Mr Owen said.

“My policy priorities are not around what might get my party elected, but rather, what I am hearing or community wants.”

Born and raised in Pakenham, Mr Owen said he has seen the growth and development of the community over the past 45 years.

Mr Owen said he is committed to the further development of health systems, improved public transport and more affordable housing locals are calling for.

“It’s time to do politics differently. It’s about putting people before party politics,” Mr Owen said.

Mr Owen has been serving the community for close to three decades.

Mr Owen has been a member of Victoria Police for 26 years in a number of stations including Pakenham and a Cardinia Shire Councillor for the last 17 years, including three terms as mayor.
