Riseley shines on track

Harkaway middle-distance runner Jeff Riseley continued his 2007 overseas odyssey on Sunday with a quality performance at the British Grand Prix in Sheffield. The 20-year-old former Narre Warren little athlete competed against a strong 1500-metre field and ran a personal best time of 3:38.56 in finishing a creditable ninth. Riseley's time was just over half a second behind fellow Australian Mark Fountain who managed a slick 3:37.94 – the fastest time by an Australian this year – to place sixth.
