Stranded in floodwaters

Beaconsfield CFA has issued motorists with a reminder not to drive through floodwaters, after they were called to assist with a stranded car in waters near the Beaconsfield Railway Station on Wednesday 24 August.

CFA members arrived at the scene on Beaconsfield Avenue near the rail bridge around 3.30pm to find a BMW SUV stranded in the middle of waist-high waters.

“Please be aware the viaduct is flooded so do not attempt to drive through,” Beaconsfield CFA said in a Facebook post.

“Many of these incidents end in tragedy so please don’t attempt to cross any flood waters.”

Police redirected traffic surrounding the floodwaters as a tow truck attempted to recover the vehicle.
