Socials in no mood for niceties

Just Social has made the biggest statement yet that it is the team to beat in the South West Gippsland Dart League (SWGDL) with a thumping 11-4 victory over Warriors

The battle between the two undefeated teams was expected to be a closely-fought affair, but Just Social burst out of the blocks and never gave the Warriors a chance.

Having now dispensed of the Warriors, the challenges keep coming for Just Social – with now second-placed Snipers the next team on the horizon.

The grand finalists from the Autumn season have now worked their way to the top and could be on another collision course when the Winter season finals roll around.

The news wasn’t all bad for the Warriors in round seven, with Anthony Lawler setting a new benchmark peg-out with an outstanding 129 finish.

Thom (122) from the Rebels, and Jamie (114) from Just Social now have a new target to chase after being the holders of the only triple-figure checkouts in the early part of the season.

Snipers should go in confident this week against Just Social, with Dean Gibbs maintaining his average of seven tons per week to sit at the top of that table with 49 thrown for the season.

Teammate Tim holds down second place with 39 tons, while Terry from Just Social is next best with 31.

In other highlights this week, Bullseyes backed up their first win of the season with a thrilling 8-7 victory over Fore, while Paky One bounced back from last week’s heavy loss to Just Social with a commanding 10-5 victory over Wizards.

Paky One and Warriors will match motors in the other big match scheduled for round eight.

Spectators are most welcome to visit the Cardinia Club in Pakenham on Tuesday nights to witness some red-hot darts action.

Matches commence at 7.30pm.
