Upgrade to please drivers

LOCAL drivers will soon find travel along Berwick-Cranbourne Road easier with the upgrade of the section between Grices Road and Thompsons Road.
The $7.7 million earmarked for the duplication is a reflection of how much traffic is now using the Berwick-Cranbourne Road, as well as the anticipated future growth in the area.
Narre Warren South MP Judith Graley said she called upon Roads and Ports Minister Tim Pallas to provide funding for the road in Parliament.
“The Bracks Labor Government is happy to confirm that the upgrade will go ahead and funding has been secured in the 2007-2008 State Budget,” Ms Graley said.
“The Government is committed to improving roads in this local area, and I never miss an opportunity to raise these issues with the Ministers in the Parliament.
“Once this work is completed, traffic will be able to flow more freely along this stretch of road which will be a huge benefit to drivers.
“It will also provide greater safety to our local community and ensure that Casey continues to be a great place to live, work and bring up a family,” she said.
