DEEP CREEK GOLF CLUB
A stableford competition – not stroke – was used to find a winner of the July Monthly Medal at Deep Creek Golf Club on Saturday and Michael Banger was the player to emerge victorious.
Banger, playing off his handicap of 27, was the only player to break his handicap, scoring 37 points to win the medal and C Grade as well.
Runner up to Banger in C Grade was Graeme Steel (29) with 36 points, the same score that was good enough to win A and B Grade as well.
A Grade winner was Anthony Franzi (12) with 36 points, one shot clear of Harry Elyasie (4) on 35.
The sweet-swinging Barry Williams (19) won B Grade with 36 points, also a shot clear of club president Rob Nobelius (15). Watch out Barry, defeating the president might see your fees about to rise!
Balls down the line went to Shane Wilkinson, Les Jones, Marcus Cameron and Levi Sua with 35 points and to Noel Boyd, Brian Webster, Matthew Hogan, Glenn Rees, Terry Bull and Brett McGee with 34 points.
Nearest the pins went to 2nd Hole: Glenn Rees (4.28m) and 16th Hole: Frankie Chiu (1.3m).
The golfing week began all the way back on Monday of last week with a Par competition proving a tough battle for most of the assembled field.

Down the lines went to Noel Bonne -4, and Tom McDermott and Glenn Charles -5.
Nearest the pins went 2nd Hole: Tony Sheahan (5.10m) and 16th Hole: Tony Penney (4.70m).
