LOCALS are invited to attend a special family fun day to celebrate the reopening of the Pakenham Outdoor Pool on Saturday.
Victorian Minister for Sport, Recreation and Youth Affairs James Merlino will officially open the pool which has undergone a $1 million refurbishment.
The Cardinia Shire Council funded the project with support from a $333,000 State Government grant.
Community celebrations will run from 1pm to 3pm this Saturday and include an inflatable play area, jumping castle, face painting and a family barbecue.
Wally Wombat will also make an appearance at the pool which will remain open until 7pm.
Cr Bill Ronald said there had been strong support in the community for the pool re-opening and was looking forward to a swim on Saturday.
“This is a fantastic outcome,” he said.
