A fantastic season in the South West Gippsland Darts League (SWGDL) is about to get even better with a high-quality three-week finals’ series now upon us.

The top-three teams, Just Social, Snipers and Warriors, had already locked away a place in this year’s finals series but there was still one spot to play for when Paky One lined up against Rebels in round 14.

And it was Paky One who came out on top, winning 11-4 to head into the finals with a massive confidence boost.

The last round of the home-and-away season saw some great darts played, with 180’s thrown by Liam and Simon, and also by Troy who filled up on trebles for the third time this season.

Troy’s perfect visit to the oche saw him join Thom as one of only two players to have hit the maximum three times this year.

And Dean from the Snipers threw an impressive eight tons for the night, taking his season’s tally to 93 centuries for the year.

Round one of finals will see the top-two teams – Just Social and Snipers – battle it out for a place in the grand final, while the third and fourth ranked teams – Warriors and Paky One – will look to progress to week two.

All teams will come in confident after strong wins in round 14 but it’s Just Social who will be the team to beat when final kick off this week.

Impressively, Dale, Terry and Troy and the rest of the Just Social team have gone through the year undefeated, averaging more than 10 points per week this season.

They’ll start favourite against Snipers in the major semi-final on week one of finals, while the game between Warriors and Paky One should be a beauty.

Both teams finished on eight wins for the season with very little separating the teams on percentage.

Week One Tips: Just Social to defeat Snipers and Warriors to knock Paky One out of this year’s competition.
