Train delay on Pakenham line

Disgruntled commuters were unable to get to work on time due to delays of up to 45 minutes on Tuesday 22 March following V-Line “operational issues“.

It is alleged a V-Line driver was unable to operate the train over the new rail bridge infrastructure, causing the train to stop in the Hallam area.

Four morning Gippsland services were replaced by coaches for part of the journey and some other services experienced minor delays as a result of an operational error.

A spokesperson said V/Line will “complete a full investigation into exactly what led to the operational error“.“

“We thank passengers for their patience while we worked to get them where they needed to go as quickly and safely as possible while travelling on morning Gippsland services which were replaced by coaches for part of the journey or experienced delays,“ they said.

“Customers are encouraged to check V/Line’s website, app, twitter feed or speak to staff for the most up-to-date information on their services.“
