A man has been caught speeding over twice the speed limit on Army Road in Pakenham on Sunday 27 February.
The 40-year-old was pulled over by members from Cardinia Highway Patrol around around 3.45pm who were performing speed enforcement as part of Operation Gonzales on high risk roads in Cardinia.
Police said when they intercepted the unregistered vehicle, it was alleging travelling at 139km/h in a 60km/h zone in Army Road, Pakenham.
The driver gave his reason for exceeding the speed limit as just trying to have some fun, police said.
The male’s vehicle was impounded for a period of 30 days and will be receiving a summons to attend court.
