There were about 770 export and 200 young cattle penned representing an increase of 50 head week-on-week.

Most of the usual buying group was present but not all operating fully in a mixed market.

Quality improved in the grown while there were fewer young cattle suited to the trade.

Trade cattle sold firm to a little easier.

Well finished grown steers and bullocks improved 5c to 10c/kg.

Heavy grown heifers showing good finish lifted 15c/kg.

Manufacturing steers eased 10c/kg.

Cows sold from firm to 10c/kg cheaper.

Heavy bulls held firm.

Vealers sold from 480c to 584c/kg.

Yearling trade steers made between 480c and 560c/kg.

Yearling heifers suited to the trade sold between 470c and 482c/kg.

Grown steers made from 458c to 502c/kg.

Bullocks sold from 468c to 498c/kg.

Heavy grown heifers made between 428c and 474c/kg.

Heavy Friesian manufacturing steers sold between 338c and 380c with the crossbred portion between 350c and 486c/kg.

Most light and medium weight cows made from 180c to 294c/kg.

Heavy weight cows sold mostly from 255c to 394c/kg.

Better shaped heavy bulls made between 346c and 392c with the dairy lots between 293c and 340c/kg.
