Cardinia Shire residents are encouraged to have their say on community priorities as the council plans for the 2022/23 budget.
In early 2021, Imagine Cardinia and Imagine Cardinia People’s Panel was used to identify priorities for the council plan, financial plan and the council budget.
In order to deliver on the community’s priorities through the council plan, the council prepares four year rolling budgets which are adopted annually.
Cardinia Shire Mayor Jeff Springfield is encouraging the community to provide feedback.
“The council is now taking this opportunity to check in on the priorities identified by you early in 2021,” Cr Springfield said.
“These are reflected in the council plan and will inform the 2022/2023 annual budget.
“Early in 2021, you told us that empowering our communities to be healthy, connected, and resilient was important to you, creating liveable spaces and places was important to you, supporting our biodiversity to thrive was important to you, supporting our productive land and employment land to grow local industries was important to you and practising responsible leadership was important to you.
“We are taking this opportunity to check in and see if these issues are still important to you.”
Community feedback received will be considered to inform the council budget. If the feedback through this survey presents significant changes to the issues identified as important, this will be recognised in the council’s review of the 2022/2023 annual budget.
